The Teatro del Bicentenario Roberto Plasencia Saldaña celebrated 9 years of Ópera Picnic
Ópera Picnic is a program created by the Teatro del Bicentenario Roberto Plasencia Saldaña to bring opera to different audiences. This year, on its ninth anniversary, it presented the operas Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia, Puccini’s Madama Butterfly and Verdi’s Aida.
The Teatro del Bicentenario Roberto Plasencia Saldaña of the Cultural Forum celebrated nine years of Ópera Picnic, a program created in March 2016 with the intention of bringing opera to all audiences in a relaxed environment and since then, every year the venue seeks to strengthen the formation of new audiences through video projection not only of its magnificent operatic productions but also of other shows and guest productions, which allows more and more people to learn about the experience in a fresh and fun way.
With a capacity of more than 6,200 people; This year, they presented Il barbiere di Siviglia, by Gioachino Rossini, premiered on March 15, 2015, at the Teatro del Bicentenario Roberto Plasencia Saldaña.
This year, on the occasion of the centenary of the death of the Italian composer Giacomo Puccini, they screened the opera Madama Butterfly, a guest production of the Teatro Real in Madrid, presented in June 2017.
Finally, on Saturday, April 6, the theatre presented the opera Aida, by Giuseppe Verdi, performed at the Teatro del Bicentenario Roberto Plasencia Saldañ in February 2023.
