Abstract: Teatre Principal de Palma was inaugurated in 1667 under the name of Casa de las Comedias and with a capacity of 800 people. In 1980 it became dependent on the Consell de Mallorca. It is currently the most important theater and opera production center in the Balearic Islands. In its programming, in addition to the opera season, the theater, music and contemporary dance shows stand out. Its most important activity is the production of shows and the coordination of creation centers in Mallorca, with which they maintain collaboration agreements for the realization of artistic residences.

It regularly collaborates with film and modern music festivals and also accompanies institutional instruments of the Mallorca Council, the Palma City Council and the Balearic Islands Government.
