A trip to the past together with an invitation to create the future: we traveled outside of Solís and went to Paso de la Arena to share our experience with teachers and students with Audience Development.
National Comedy “Barranca Abajo”. A story about betrayal, but more than that, about the impossibility of being happy. Morena proposes to recover the living pulse through two acts between the past and the present. Two families in two times. Some descend from others. An open dialogue between the politically correct and the desolate characters in the vastness of the horizon.

Tablao, Flamenco inside. Behind the scenes of the flamenco season at the Solís Theater: Ceibo and Olivo, Guerrero, Las Migas and Salir del Ruedo. Unpublished images in the testimony of its protagonists: that’s how they lived it.
National Comedy, Lip of Hare. The playwright Fabio Rubiano locates Labio de liebre in the post-Colombian guerrilla period and reveals the contradictions of a confused society. The staging of Lucio Hernández takes from his work the dilemmas that arise in the closing periods of any guerrilla conflict, and that we can easily identify. In the play, a war killer is benevolently sentenced to three years of house arrest in a town that bears no resemblance to his hometown. The text exposes us to how ambiguous the division between victims and victimizers can be, and the narrow line that exists between revenge and forgiveness. The story of always told like never before.
National Comedy “Tartufo”. This classic of the universal theater with more than three centuries of glory, has been represented since 1669. Tartufo is one of the richest characters (even ambiguous) in the entire history of the theater. The character, this time played by the emblematic Levón (actor in the National Comedy since 1976), is a portrait of the human condition and because it is complex, the human condition does not lend itself to unique labels, resounding definitions and Manicheas.
Play “La travesía”. The protagonist of this story works in a humanitarian aid village in an area that, devastated by violence and an event of which she is a witness, makes her go through an emotional journey in which her faith can be questioned.
Cavalleria Rusticana. One of the classic Verismo operas will accompany you along with the Montevideo Philharmonic Orchestra, under the musical direction of Carlos Vieu and the stage direction of Willy Landin.
National Comedy “As You Like It”. Is a comedy written around 1599. It is considered by many critics to be one of the most mature and elaborate Shakespearean comedies, in which classic elements of the genre converge. It incorporates a large part of the characteristic features that are presented in the author’s stories: the nature opposed to the court, characters in disguise, the treatment of the love affair and personal discovery through loss and recovery.
Il Trovatore. Production of Teatro Solís with Federico García Vigil’s Musical Direction, régie, staging and lighting by Roberto Oswald; and Aníbal Lapiz’s clothing.

CULTUBERS PROGRAM – THIRD EDITION
This Program arises from the need to keep in touch, enjoying and exchanging about performing arts even in times of pandemic. We know that we can do it remotely through virtual platforms and we have a proposal.
During a six-week process, it is planned to carry out awareness and exchange spaces on performing arts and culture. Every week Teatro Solís Mediation Team will send participants a set of materials and the link to a show. After approaching these materials, a weekly exchange forum will be generated that will serve for the subsequent preparation of a written work on the process of participation in the Program.
The process will begin on Thursday, July 9 at 6pm. with a virtual meeting that will be repeated every Thursday. On Friday, the participants will receive an email with materials and the link to a show that they should approach before the next meeting.
The cycle lasts for six weeks, so it is expected to end on Thursday, August 13 with a deadline of another week for the delivery of the final work.
