Abstract: Teatro del Bicentenario Roberto Plasencia Saldaña is a venue that harmoniously combines aesthetics, functionality and technical precision. It was inaugurated on December 7, 2010 within the framework of the national celebrations in commemoration of the two hundred years of the beginning of the Independence of Mexico and the Centennial of the Revolution and is a decentralized organ of the Forum Cultural Guanajuato, the most important cultural complex of the center of the country. The geographical location of the city of León in the state of Guanajuato makes it a privileged place that can be accessed through an international airport or through modern highways from remote places, or expeditiously from important neighboring cities, within and outside the state of Guanajuato. It is an avant-garde venue, endowed with the best conditions for the expression and enjoyment of the performing arts. Its Main Room recovers the traditional horseshoe shape, in the armchair area, which is surrounded by an acoustic chamber, an avant-garde element and unique in the world, at the time of its creation. These two factors confer two of the most remarkable qualities of this enclosure: an optimal perception of sound and a correct appreciation of the human scale. It was designed by the firm AQA, who collaborated with the specialists Theater Projects Consultants and Alejandro Luna, in the aspects of theatrical specialization, and the Akustiks office, in acoustic matters.
