Mario Galizzi is the new Director of the Stable Ballet of the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires

The renowned Argentine teacher and choreographer Mario Galizzi will be the new Director of the Teatro Colón Stable Ballet, beginning his third stage at the head of the Company.

 

The Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires has a new Director of the Stable Ballet. Choreographer Mario Galizzi will be in charge of directing the dance corps of the Argentine theater, which means a new stage in his career with the Company.

 

The General Director of the Teatro Colón, María Victoria Alcaraz stated: “It is with great satisfaction that the Teatro Colón welcomes Maestro Mario Galizzi as Director of the Stable Ballet. The incorporation of him ranks the high artistic quality of the Teatro Colón. ”

 

For his part, the new Director of the Stable Ballet expressed: “The Teatro Colón is my home where I not only trained, but also grew as a performer, teacher and choreographer. For this reason, it is an immense happiness to continue being there to return everything that he offered me over the years.”

 

Mario Galizzi trained at the Choreographic Institute of Rosario and at the Teatro Colón Higher Institute of Art. He was a member of the Ballet of the Argentine Theater of La Plata and the Contemporary Ballet of the San Martín Theater. Based in Germany, he was a member of the ballet company of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and was the first soloist of the Hannover and Frankfurt Operas.

 

Upon returning to Argentina, he joined the Teatro Colón Ballet, of which he was a dancer, dance teacher, choreographer, director for two periods, and artistic advisor. He has served as teacher and guest choreographer in important dance, opera and theater institutions in Argentina, the United States, Venezuela, Jamaica, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Peru, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Finland.
