After his presentation at Gran Teatro Nacional of Lima for the 30th anniversary of the radio program Antología Lírica and on September 24th in the Main Hall of the Teatro Colón, the Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez gave a master class open to the general public with the participation of students of the Higher Institute of Art of the Teatro Colón.

Enrique Arturo Diemecke, General Artistic and Production Director of the Teatro Colón, presented Juan Diego Flórez with Agustina Catone, Director of Responsible Business of the Fundación Telefónica, a company of which the teacher is its ambassador.

In this masterclass, the young student students and the audience could enjoy the extensive knowledge and rich experience, instruction and advice of the great maestro Juan Diego Flórez imparting, with profound simplicity, clarity and good humor, his mark on different techniques for perfecting vocal from the stage practice taught by the selected students of the Higher Institute of Art of the Teatro Colón and accompanied on piano by maestro Marcelo Ayub.

The recital will have two acts, in the first one it will interpret works of outstanding classical composers, like Donizzeti, Puccini, Verdi, among others; while the repertoire of the second part will be dedicated to Latin American popular music.

The visit of the so-called “largest light tenor in history” is sponsored by Banco Santander through the Law of Cultural Donations and expects to gather around 10 thousand people who can enjoy this world-class show for free.
