Historical meeting of technicians at Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires

With high participation of Ibero-American theaters, an unprecedented meeting begins today. The meeting constitutes the initial kick-off of the network work led by the same Technical Directors of the theaters, with a focus on the articulation of joint circulation and marketing strategies for productions in Latin America.

March 2018, Buenos Aires Argentina.- The Colon Theater of Buenos Aires will host the First Forum of Technical Directors of the theaters belonging to the OLA Network. The high call generated by this initiative, with the assistance of all the technical leaders of the Network, confirms the need and importance of the initiative led by the newly created Technical Committee in Bogotá 2017.

The forum specialized in technical matters aims to design a policy of circulation of shows and promote co-production between members and the rest of the world. During the last months, he has had the task of making a diagnosis and analysis of tariff and legal barriers for the export of the productions in our countries and other continents, which will be presented at the meeting.

Themes of the First Meeting

During two days of the day will review the main problems that have the theaters and artistic associations at the time of circulating their productions by one or more countries in the Region. This with the intention of reaching a petition for approval of public policies, customs and visas. At the level of administrative management will also deal with issues to be agreed as contracts, methodologies, with the idea of ​​concluding with a toolkit or OLA export manual.
Some of the panels that will be developed during this meeting in the Argentine Coliseum will be “Politics of export of cultural goods in Latin American theaters,” OLA Co-productions “and” Standardization of coproduction processes, contracts, regulations, etc. ”

The occasion will also feature the presentation of Escena Marketplace, the first international digital platform that promotes classic productions already premiered, encouraging circulation between theaters and generating a secondary market. The vision of the scene is to provide information to facilitate the circulation of works and thus generate more classic content in the theaters of the Latin America region. Scene shows and connects classic productions of opera houses and world-renowned lyric companies with theater programmers looking for classic repertoire for their seasons.

During the meeting, Mada, the inventory management software for theaters that OLA has been developing together with the company Inqsol during the last months, will also be presented.

In its first version, the meeting will be attended by more than 30 representatives of the theaters belonging to the OLA Network. The commission led by the Technical Director of the Teatro Colón of Buenos Aires, María Cremonte, Enrique Bordolini representing the Teatro Argentino de La Plata; Alejandro Abrante Mayor of the Opera of Tenerife; and Carlos Proenza of the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo de Bogotá.
