Ceac TV resumes its usual programming with new live records of the Pianists Cycle and In Crescendo
After a week marked by the celebrations of National Holidays, the online channel returns to its weekly program schedule, which includes new presentations from the Universidad de Chile Theater.
The Cycle of Pianists of the Center for Artistic and Cultural Extension of the University of Chile, which on September 16 presented the debut of its 2020 season, continues this Wednesday 23 at 7:40 p.m. with a recital by Alexandros Jusakos. This is the second in a series of four concerts recorded live from the Universidad de Chile Theater, and which includes various works with some of the most iconic representatives of the pianistic repertoire.
Beethoven, Schumann, Liszt and Chopin will be the composers to be interpreted by Jusakos, winner of two Special Awards at the IX International Piano Competition “Prince Antonio Radziwill”, in Poland, Claudio Arrau 2001 Prize and second prize at the 1st International Competition for Piano Teachers , in Warsaw.
On the other hand, on Friday 25 and Saturday 26, also at 7:40 p.m., the program In Crescendo will return, which this time will present the outstanding percussion soloist of the National Symphony Orchestra of Chile, Gerardo Salazar, who will perform works by François Lebert, Adam White, John Bergamo and Efraín Amaya. Likewise, the cycle will have its first quartet on stage, made up of Rodrigo Herrera on English horn, Rodrigo Pozo on violin, Cristián Gutiérrez on cello and Jimena Rey on double bass. Together they will perform Quartet in C P115 by Michael Haydn.
After these presentations, it will be the turn of Variations on an original theme, Op. 36 (“Enigma”) commonly known as Enigma Variations, by Edward Elgar, in a concert offered by the Symphony in April 2018, with the direction of whoever was then the head of the Orchestra, the renowned maestro Leonid Grin.
Meanwhile, the Chilean National Ballet will hit the screen on Thursday 24 and Sunday 27 at 8:00 p.m., with works by two outstanding national choreographers: Claudia Vicuña and Eduardo Zúñiga. Everything will start with A the arrival of the birds, by the renowned dancer and choreographer, winner of the 2006 Altazor Prize, Claudia Vicuña. The work was part of the first cycle of the Banch 2015 season, called “Memories”, inspired by the ideas of memory and inheritance. The work, where the body is the container of human experience, had as a reference the figure of Jorge Cáceres, writer, dancer and visual artist, who was part of the beginnings of this dance company.
After that, three creations by the company’s choreographer and former dancer, Eduardo Zúñiga, who left the country in 2014 to settle in Europe, from where he has developed a successful career that has led him to receive important awards, will be transmitted. Thus, the first work that the public will be able to see is one of those that allowed him to win the Gold Medal at the XIII Moscow International Ballet Competition and Contest of Choreographers, in Russia: Puñal (Dagger). Then there will be a duo entitled At last, a piece created exclusively for cycle 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, presented in June 2018. The Archipiélago trio will follow, a work also presented at the XIII Moscow International Ballet Competition and Contest of Choreographers (along with Puñal), which also obtained a Silver Medal at the IV Beijing International Ballet and Choreography Competition, in China.
The weekly program will be completed by the Symphonic Choir of the University of Chile, performing a selection of some of the favorite works of Chilean and Latin American music, as well as excerpts from the famous Carmina Burana, by Carl Orff, a concert that the public will be able to enjoy on the Tuesday, September 22 from 7:40 p.m. at www.ceactv.cl.
