From November 29 to December 6, spectators from all over the world will have free access to ten productions in My Opera Player.

As part of the commemoration of the 30th Anniversary of the Ibero-American Summits, the Teatro Real, the AECID  and the  SEGIB, with the collaboration of five lyric theaters in Ibero-America, will offer free access, for a week, to ten productions -nine operas and a ballet-, available on the My Opera Player

The Teatro Real will offer 5 productions that have some link with the countries of Ibero-America: Don Giovanni,by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; The Barber of Seville, by Gioacchino Rossini; I puritani,by Vincenzo Bellini; Aida,  by Giuseppe Verdi and  Tosca,  by Giacomo Puccini.

Free access to the 10 titles will be operational through registration in My Opera Player from November 29 at 3:00 p.m. to December 6 at 3:00 p.m. (peninsular Spanish time).

Coinciding with the commemorative events of the 30th Anniversary of the Ibero-American Summits of Heads of State and Government, th  Teatro Real, the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID)  and the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB), come together to offer free access, worldwide, to ten productions available on the My Opera Player  platform: four operas and one ballet come from Ibero-American theatres and five titles are operas presented and recorded at the Teatro Real.

In the choice of the titles of the Teatro Real, Ibero-American artists have been privileged, such as the Argentine Hugo de Ana or  the Spanish stage directors Emilio Sagi, Lluís  Pasqual and Paco Azorín; and  performers such as the Peruvian Juan Diego Flórez, the Mexican Javier Camarena or the Spaniards María Bayo, Carlos Álvarez and José Bros, in addition to the selection of two Operas of Spanish theme, such as The Barber of Seville  and Don Giovanni.

This initiative reinforces the strong links of the Teatro Real with the opera public of Latin American countries, with whom it is in permanent and active contact through its presence in the steering committee of OLA  (ÓPERA LATINOAMÉRICA),  founded in 2007 in Santiago de Chile, and whose main mission is to promote lyrical art,  organizing thematic seminars, debates and joint initiatives, in addition to facilitating the sale, leasing and co-production among Ibero-American theaters.

Five Latin American lyrical institutions participate in the commemorative events of the 30th Anniversary of the Ibero-American Summits,  allowing free access to their productions: the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires with The Tales of Hoffmann, by Jacques Offenbach; the Gran Teatro Nacional de Perú with Alzira,by Giuseppe Verdi; the Opera Bellas Artes de México, with The marriage of Figaro, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart;  the Amazonas Opera Festival of Brazil, with  Moto-Contínuo, by Piero Schlochauer; and Municipal de Santiago de Chile, with the  ballet  Trilogía+1.

In line with the principles defended at the Ibero-American Summits, Spanish Cooperation understands culture as a key factor for sustainable human development, the eradication of poverty, the active construction of peace and the full exercise of the rights of a global citizenship. From this perspective, the AECID contributes with various programs to make culture change people’s lives, considering music, for its value and universal language, a vehicle of development and a key tool to reach all parties, breaking down borders and building joint paths.
