The Amazon Festival of Manaus Opera announces its 2020 season
The programme for next year edition of Festival Amazonas de Ópera, will take place from April 18 to June 7, and will pay tribute to Ludwig van Beethoven.

After the signing of the agreement between the Special Secretariat of Cultural of the Ministry of Citizenship of Brazil with OLA, the dates and highlights of the next edition of the Festival were announced for the first time and one year in advance the Festival Amazonas of Opera FAO.

In 2020, the 23rd edition of the FAO will take place from April 18 to June 7. The programme will be composed by: Peter Grimes of Benjamin Britten; O Menino Maluquinho by Ernani Aguiar; Fidelio by Ludwig van Beethoven; Armide by Jean Baptiste Lully; and Attila by Giuseppe Verdi. The honoree of the next edition will be the German composer Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827), who commemorates his 250th birthday.

“We are announcing the programming of the next FAO in advance to meet a request from many fans of the opera, who wish to be scheduled to attend the festival,” said Secretary of State for Culture, Marcos Apolo Muniz.
The FAO is sponsored by the Government of Amazonas, through the Secretary of State for Culture (SEC), with the sponsorship of Bradesco, through the Law of Incentives for Culture, the Ministry of Citizenship and the Ministry of Culture Special.
