Festival directors from Salzburg, Cervantino, Händel, Granada and Bogotá will be the protagonists of the online seminar

Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo and Ópera Latinoamérica (OLA) will organize on September 28 the international seminar Management of Music Festivals Today, where several international guests who are involved in the management of music and theater festivals will debate on urgent issues outreach and culture. An opportunity to share questions and opinions in the run-up to the V Festival de Música Clásica de Bogotá.

 

Five people who have dedicated their lives to the organization of cultural spaces will be the protagonists of the international seminar Management of Music Festivals Today, a digital space for discussion open to the public that will take place on September 28 at 9:00 a.m. A.M (Colombian time) on the Facebook Live and YouTube Live accounts of the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo.

 

Under the premise of answering urgent questions in the field of cultural management, Helga Rabl-Stadler, president of the Salzburg Festival (Austria); Clemens Birnbaum, director of the Casa de Händel foundation and director of the Händel Festival, in Halle (Germany); Mariana Aymerich, director of the International Cervantino Festival of Guanajuato (Mexico); Antonio Moral, director of the Granada International Music and Dance Festival (Spain), and Ramiro Osorio, director of the Julio Mario Santo Domingo Theater and the Bogotá International Classical Music Festival, will meet in this exciting digital talk that will feature the moderated by Yalilé Cardona, cultural manager and co-director of the Bogotá International Classical Music Festival.

 

All the guests have decades of experience and their work around culture and music is full of valuable lessons for the public. Dr. Helga Rabl-Stadler, for example, has led the Salzburg Festival for more than 25 years and has extensive knowledge of fundraising, which is reflected in the funding of the House of Mozart, which cost $ 36 million. pesos, while Antonio Moral, founder of a prestigious music magazine, managed, during the difficult months of 2020 that followed the general isolation in Spain, to position the International Festival of Music and Dance of Granada as a cultural event symbol of the city. About the seminar guests

 

Dr. Helga Rabl-Stadler – she studied journalism, law and political science. She was the first woman to have an editorial column of her own in the Austrian newspaper Kurier, on economics and politics. She has extensive political experience and is a member of the Austrian National Council and president of the Salzburg Chamber of Commerce. Since 1995 she is president of the Salzburg Festival and in 2020 she celebrated the centenary of the event.

 

Clemens Birnbaum – He studied music and German studies and worked as a playwright in theaters and various festivals. In 2000 he became artistic director and chief playwright of the Dresden Music Festival, where he was appointed general director of the Kurt Weill Festival and the Kurt Weill Center. In 2009 he became the director of the Händel Haus Foundation and the Händel Festival, Halle (Germany).

 

Mariana Aymerich – Producer and manager dedicated to culture for more than two decades. She has worked in Spain, the United States, China, Costa Rica, and Mexico. She is currently the general director of the International Cervantino Festival and Cultural Circuits, of Guanajuato, a fundamental reference of artistic expressions from around the world in Mexico.

 

Antonio Moral – In 1985 he founded the prestigious musical magazine Scherzo, which he directed until 2001. He has also founded some of the most important festivals and concert series in Spain, such as the Mozart Festival in Madrid and A Coruña, or the Ciclo de Lied in the Zarzuela Theater. He was the artistic director of the Cuenca Religious Music Week and the Royal Theater of Madrid. Since January 2020 he has been the director of the Granada International Music and Dance Festival.

 

Ramiro Osorio – Master in Spanish Letters from the University of Guanajuato and director and theater teacher. He was co-founder of the Ibero-American Theater Festival of Bogotá and has been the director of several festivals, such as the Seville Between Cultures Festival, the Great Mexico City Festival and the International Cervantino Festival. In Colombia he has held various public responsibilities. He is currently the general director of the Julio Mario Santo Domingo Teatro Mayor and the Bogotá International Classical Music Festival.

 

Yalilé Cardona (moderator) – Bogotana. She studied music with an emphasis on lyrical singing at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, where she obtained her degree with meritorious mention. She later studied at the Royal College of Music, London, where she won the Century Fund Prize for best early music performer. Since 2000 she has lived in Austria, where she obtained with honors a master’s degree in cultural management from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. In 2005 she founded the CardonArt agency and since 2018 she has co-directed the International Classical Music Festival of Bogotá.
