Abstract: Inaugurated in 1857, it is the oldest cultural center in Chile and one of the most important and most traditional venues in Latin America. It is particularly praised in the region and internationally for his opera productions, presented annually in a lyrical season; It also includes numerous activities, such as symphony concerts, ballet, chamber music, solo recitals, theater and children’s and family shows, among others. Municipal de Santiago is managed by the Cultural Corporation of Santiago and houses fundamental institutions for art and culture in Chile, such as the Philharmonic Orchestra of Santiago, the Ballet of Santiago and the Municipal Choir of Santiago, as well as a complete technical staff with clothing, shoe and sculpture workshops.
